We achieved the project goal.
We managed to gather the best practices from different delivery apps and combine them in one interface while keeping it simple, fast, and easy to understand.
As a result, we created an application where choosing a dish, placing an order, and tracking it feel as clear and convenient as possible, without unnecessary steps or visual noise.
To understand how a smooth and intuitive food-delivery service should work, I created a CJM based on a typical flow — from the first launch of the app to receiving the order.
The user journey map helped break down the full process step-by-step, highlight moments where users need the fastest and clearest interactions, and outline the stages that require extra attention in the interface.
This became a foundation for structuring the product and defining key priorities: fast category browsing, simple search, quick item selection, and a straightforward checkout.
I analyzed several popular food-delivery apps to understand how they solve key tasks: navigation, category presentation, product cards, and cart interactions.
Each service had its own strengths — some offered clearer category structures, others had cleaner product cards or more effective purchase-driving mechanics.
I identified several solutions worth using:
- Categories are displayed as large cards, making them easier to scan and quicker to choose from.
- Common user scenarios are placed at the top: favorites, promotions, and popular categories — users instantly see the most useful sections.
- The catalog has a clear visual hierarchy: large headings, grouped blocks, and predictable structure. This speeds up navigation even on small screens.
- A free-shipping progress bar motivates users to add more items to the cart.
The moodboard was created to define the visual direction of the future interface. It combines warm, “tasty” colors typical for food services, energetic accents inspired by FMCG branding, and real-life shopping references. This helped shape a lively, dynamic atmosphere where products feel fresh and the interface looks modern and friendly.
Project background
As an active user of several food-delivery apps, I noticed that each service had its own strengths — clear navigation, convenient filtering, fast checkout, or well-organized product cards. But none of them combined all of these advantages in one place.
This inspired me to create my own concept of an ideal food-delivery app, bringing together the best practices from different services and focusing on a smooth, intuitive user experience.
